This year on our trip to Europe will visit Spain and travel to Barcelona, Basque Country and Madrid.
Barcelona
We start off the trip with four days in Barcelona (which we visited last year) with plans to visit the beach and catching a FC Barcelona match at Camp Nou.
Basque Country
In Basque Country we’ll be renting a car and traveling to the town of Elciego where we’ll staying one night at the Hotel Marqués de Riscal which is a stunning 2Ist century chateau designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. The hotel sits upon the Marqués de Riscal vineyard, dating from 1858.
From here we will drive to the sea side city of San Sebastián where we’ll spend two nights at the One Shot Tabakalera House, an old cigar factory that is now part of the Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture.
Finally we’ll spend our last night in Bilbao, which is the largest city in Basque Country, and also home to a Guggenheim Museum.
Madrid
We end the trip with four days in Madrid where we plan to visit a few museums, enjoy the parks and eat our way around the city.
We hope you enjoy following along. Feel free to leave comments for us, too.
