On a whim, Nik and I decided to buy tickets to see Bonnie Tyler in concert while in Lille. It was our last night in town and it was so much fun.
After we arrived into Lille, Nik and I were walking to our hotel and passed a poster for Bonnie Tyler in concert. I was immediately excited because I thought it’d be fun to see her in concert and something different on the trip. I really only knew two of her songs, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding out for a Hero.” The latter I know from the movie Footloose.

Théâtre Sébastopol
The venue, Théâtre Sébastopol, was conveniently located in relation to our hotel and potential dinner spots, so that also swayed us to buy tickets.

When the venue originally opened in 1903, it seated 2,000 people but after some updates and renovations in the early 1990s, it now holds approximately 1,350 people. The crowd for our show was pretty reserved and finally stood up from their seats by the end. We were in the upper section and had some empty seats around us, so the show was not sold out.

The Concert
When Bonnie first took the stage, I was a little worried the show wasn’t going to be good because her voice was quite raspy. But as the show got going, she was fabulous and her band was incredible.
